The Nigerian Air Force part of Operation Thunder Strike raided bandits’ hideouts in Kaduna’s Birnin Gwari Local Government Area, killing at least 24 of them.
Mr. Samuel Aruwan, the state Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, confirmed this in a statement on Thursday.
He stated that the troops will continue to patrol the troubled region with vigour.
Aruwan said that the bandits were killed during a military aerial mission over Ungwan Nacibi in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area.
He went on to state that the aircraft carried out an airstrike at the reported bandits’ site, which was successful, and that the strikes were well on target, as many bandits were reported dead as a result of the airstrike.
“Dozens of bandits were neutralized in an aerial mission over Birnin Gwari LGA,” said the commissioner. More than a dozen bandits were allegedly killed in an aerial mission over Ungwan Nacibi in Birnin Gwari local government area on Wednesday. “Governor Nasir El-Rufai noted the feedback with thanks and commended the crew for a successful mission.”
