This attack is coming barely 12 hours when some group of insurgents on Saturday attacked Rann, the Headquarter of Kala Balge Local Government Area.

On Sunday morning, some people suspected of belonging to the dreaded Boko Haram sect invaded Ajiri village in Borno state’s Mafa Local Government Area, gaining access to the military base and dislodging troops.

This attack comes just 12 hours after a group of insurgents attacked Rann, the headquarter of Kala Balge Local Government Area, and Limankara village in Gwoza Local Government Area of the state on Saturday.

Ajiri town, about 50 kilometers from Borno Central, is located along the Maiduguri-Mafa-Dikawa road, and thousands of its residents, mostly Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), have recently returned to pick up the pieces.

A senior security source confirmed insurgent infiltration into the Ajiri military base, Rann, and Limankara communities, though he added that details of the attacks were still sketchy at press time.
