President Buhari has named Chief (Dr.) Sylva Ameh to the Governing Council of the Federal Polytechnic, Ohodo, Enugu State.

This was said on behalf of the Presidency by Mr. Bem Goong, Director of Press and Public Relations, Federal Ministry of Education.

The Polytechnic was one of the few institutions of higher learning founded recently across the country by the federal government to improve the quality of learning of Nigerian students while alleviating the difficulties faced by many in gaining admission to the few existing schools.

Hon. Samuel Odagboyi Godday, Member of Apa/Agatu Federal Constituency, characterized Chief Ameh’s appointment as “a well-deserved call to national service” in a letter of congratulations.

He said that Chief Ameh’s wealth of experience in the civil service, where he rose to the rank of Federal Director and retired gallantly with prestige, would undoubtedly contribute to the growth and development of the newly formed Polytechnic.

“As you pick up this important national assignment, I pray your experiences are found impactful to the overall growth and development of the Federal Polytechnic, Ohodo, Enugu State, while wishing you a blissful tenure ahead”, Hon. Godday said.

Chief Ameh, a Member of the Governing Board of the Nigerian Institute For Oil Palm Research, Benin, is a retired Federal Director of Finance and Accounts, Federal Ministry of Finance. He has also served in various managerial capacities in eleven Federal Ministries, including Works and Housing, Health, Education, Petroleum, Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), and others.
