Real Madrid are on the verge of completing their first signing of the 2021/22 season, according to transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano, who claims that David Alaba has already signed his contract.

The Bayern Munich player will leave Germany at the end of the season on June 30th, after which he will join Real Madrid – if the club can make it official before then.

Despite the fact that he was courted by a number of clubs, the Austrian has finally decided to join Real Madrid. Signing a player with Alaba’s experience on a free transfer is an absolute steal for Madrid in today’s market.

According to the aforementioned source, Alaba has signed the first part of the contract, but he has yet to stamp all of the necessary paperwork to make his move official.

The defender will earn 12 million euros per year at the Spanish club, a hefty sum to entice the Austrian to join ‘Los Blancos.’

Real Madrid, for their part, will be embroiled in a new debate as a result of Alaba’s signing. Sergio Ramos has yet to renew his contract with the club, and the arrival of the Austrian could force the club captain to leave.

In this manner, if Alaba’s arrival coincides with the potential exit of Ramos, Real Madrid will be left with Alaba, Militao, Varane and Nacho as their first team centre-backs for next season.
