A man named Samson Stephen was killed by gunmen who are accused of being kidnappers.
They also kidnapped a couple, Mr and Mrs Duza Stephen, and their three-month-old baby from Igbogo in Kogi Local Government Area, Kogi State.
According to an Igbogo resident, the incident occurred on Tuesday around 11 p.m., when gunmen in large numbers attacked the city.
He said they surrounded the victims’ home, forced their way inside, murdered a young man, and kidnapped the couple and their three-month-old boy.
That the gunmen came with the goal of kidnapping the father of the young man killed, Stephen Dogara, a head teacher in Rubochi in the Kuje Area Council of the FCT, but they did not reach him at his house.
The spokesman of the Kogi State Police Command, DSP Williams Ovye Aya, asked our reporter to call back to enable him enquire about the incident from the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of Gegu-Beki, but was yet to revert as at the time of filing this report.
