The digital currency, eNaira’s app, which was launched by the Central Bank of Nigeria on Monday, surprisingly disappeared on Google Playstore on Wednesday.
This happened as Nigerians could not find the app for download barely 48 hours after President Muhammadu Buhari launched the digital currency at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The CBN received condemnations by disappointed Nigerians upon the discovery that the app could not be accessed. Some of them wondered why the central bank could launch a “premature product.”
Note that the app, before its removal, had already recorded over 100,000 downloads with many people complaining of challenges associated with the system.
Meanwhile, there are indications the app may have been upgraded to meet new requirements.
