Usman Alkali Baba, the Acting Inspector General of Police, has confirmed new appointments.
He appointed AIG Hafiz Inuwa as Force Secretary and part of the Force Management Team, while retaining CP Frank Mba as Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO) and Ag. CP Idowu Owohunwa as his Principal Staff Officer (PSO).
Inuwa succeeds AIG Mustapha Dandaura, who has been reassigned to Zone 7 Police Headquarters in Abuja.
AIG Hafiz Inuwa holds a Master of Public Policy and Administration degree (MPPA).
Prior to becoming Force Secretary, he was the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 13 Ukpo-Dunukofia in Awka, Anambra State, which included the Anambra and Enugu State Police Commands.
He previously held the offices of Commissioner of Police for Delta and Cross River States, among others. He belongs to the prestigious National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPPS), Kuru, Jos.
Mba, a lawyer and associate of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), is a graduate of the University of Dundee in Scotland, where he received a Master’s Degree in Law.
He is an IVLP scholar with a Diploma in Police Strategic Management from the University of Virginia in the United States, as well as a graduate of the prestigious FBI National Academy (FBINA) in Quantico, Virginia.
The PRO earned a Certificate in National and International Security from Harvard University in the United States.
Owohunwa, the current PSO, has a Bachelor of International Studies degree from Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria and a Master in Criminal Justice Studies and Policing from the University of Leeds in the United Kingdom.
He is a Chevening Scholar with a Diploma in Police Strategic Management from the University of Virginia in the United States and a graduate of the nationally renowned FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia.
Between 2015 and 2016, Owohunwa served as the PSO-IGP, reporting to the immediate past IGP, Mohammed Adamu. This is his third re-appointment as the Inspector-General of Police’s Principal Staff Officer.
The IGP also ordered the posting of CSP Idris Abdullahi Abubakar as the PSO II to the IGP, SP Isah Abdulhamid as PA-IGP, SP Nura Kabir Hanga as Secretary.
