Insecurity: Those Who Re-Elected Buhari in 2019 Will Never Be Forgiven – Bamgbose

A Nigerian politician has regretted that Nigerians re-elected President Muhammadu Buhari for a second term.

Olusegun Bamgbose, Esq, a member of the Nigerian Peoples Party, NNPP, has said that Nigerians made a huge mistake by re-electing President Muhammadu Buhari in 2019.

According to Bamgbose, Nigerians made a huge mistake by re-electing Buhari in 2019, and those responsible cannot be forgiven.

The senior lawyer was reacting to one of the many sad news stories that broke in Nigeria on Tuesday, one of which was the death of two students from Greenfield University in Kaduna.

The students were murdered in cold blood by the bandits who abducted them after keeping them in custody for several days.

This means that five of the kidnapped students have been murdered in cold blood.

And it appears, according to Bamgbose, that the Federal Government is helplessly watching events unfold with no hope of rescuing the abducted students, who may also be slaughtered.

“This is heinous, callous, and barbaric. Our country is rapidly devolving into a banana republic. This is heartbreaking and unfortunate,” he added.

Speaking further, the senior lawyer and 2023 presidential candidate recalled other killings that had occurred within the previous 24 hours, including: the killing of five soldiers in Imo when unknown gunmen attacked police headquarters; the killing of a DPO, eight policemen, and two vigilantes in Kebbi by bandits; the killing of two more Greenfield University students; and the killing of 19 as unknown armed gunmen invaded Anambra community.

Others are Boko Haram elements attempting to take over Niger State. Unknown gunmen killed 9 people and 23 cows in Anambra. The Nigerian Army confirms the deaths of its commander and soldiers in the Boko Haram attack. In Zaria, a pregnant woman and others were kidnapped. Three Benue University students have been kidnapped, according to police. Gunmen kill four soldiers and kidnap one more in Rivers State. The NAF has launched an investigation into the alleged accidental killings of 20 Army officers. Six more people were killed by bandits in Kaduna village.

“All these within 24 hours. It’s obvious we are already in hell. With all these, President Buhari is telling Nigerians that he will soon deal with the bandits. I have a question for our President and Lai Mohammed,” Bamgbose continued.

“If all these things were happening during Jonathan regime, would they have been patient with him? Let’s tell ourselves the truth, Nigerians committed a great blunder re electing Buhari in 2019.

“We can forgive those who voted for Buhari in 2015, but not those who re-elected him in 2019. What happens to the rest of those Greenfield varsity students who are still in captivity.

“Nigerians must rise up and think something out of the box before this nation is consumed by insecurity. We are in a serious mess.

“Things can’t continue this way. Enough is enough. There is no justification for Buhari’s occupation of State House. This Buhari regime is becoming bloody. We need divine intervention.”
