Ondo Police Command has said it would rescue the Oniku of Iku, Ikare Akoko, High Chief Mukaila Bello, unhurt from kidnappers.
High Chief Mukaila and three others were kidnapped by gunmen on Thursday evening at Ago Panu axis in Owo local government while returning from Akure.
Ondo Police spokesman, SP Fumilayo Odunlami, said the victims were travelling in a Toyota Corolla car marked KAK 818 AE.
Odunlami said the gunmen shot the driver on the head and whisked others into the bush.
She said the vehicle has been recovered and the driver taken to the hospital.
“The driver is currently in a stable condition while the police, local hunters and vigilante in the area are combing the bush for the rescue of the victims and arrest of the assailants,” she said.
