Ritualists murdered a man six days before his wedding, demanded a ransom, and dismembered the victim.

Mr Olokose Ojo, a man from Kwara State, was murdered six days before his wedding by a neighbor who offered to help him get cows for the ceremony. Ojo, said to be in his early 30s and a staff member at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital’s National Health Insurance Scheme unit, was said to have been murdered for ritual purposes by a neighbor, Kazeem Mohammed, and his gang.

Mohammed and his gang were accused of being ritualists, and he had previously served prison time. The victim’s remains were said to have been cut into pieces by alleged ritualists and packed into a bag before being deposited at the mortuary of the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital. It was further gathered sensitive parts of his body had been removed while the suspect had poured acid on his remains for speedy decay. A source said, “The wedding was supposed to take place in March in Akure, Ondo State. Ojo gave Mohammed N350,000 to buy three cows for him. On Tuesday, the victim’s family and relatives came to the teaching hospital to collect his remains for burial.
