
The Anambra State government has put a curfew on six communities in Anambra East and Oyi local government areas following a gunmen attack that killed nine people.
Igbariam, Aguleri, and Umueri in Anambra East, as well as Nteje, Awkuzu, and Umunya in Oyi local government district, are among the communities affected.
According to a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu, the curfew, which started yesterday, is in effect from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. daily.
According to the release, citizens and residents of the state residing in the affected areas were urged to follow the curfew order, as security forces were under strict orders to execute it.
