Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi will meet again after Manchester United were drawn against Paris-Saint Germain in the Champions League.
The Red Devils will meet PSG in the Round of 16 in the standout tie of the draw, as the other English clubs were handed favourable ties.
Chelsea avoided both Real Madrid and Bayern Munich and will instead face Lille, while Manchester City are up against Villarreal.
And Jurgen Klopp will be pleased after his Liverpool side were paired with debutants at this stage of the competition FC Salzburg.
Some of the other main contenders were handed tough ties in the first knockout round.
Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich were tied together, while free-scoring Ajax are up against Inter.
LaLiga leaders Real Madrid play Iberian neighbours Benfica, while Sporting and Juventus is the final of the eight ties.
Speaking on BT Sport, former England winger Joe Cole felt it was an awful draw for Ralf Rangnick and United.
Cole said: “Dreadful one for Manchester United. It’s the tie of the round. I’ve watched a lot of PSG this season, there’s still holes in what they do — the balance isn’t right.
“If they click into gear they can beat anyone, but Ralf Rangnick will have two months with his squad before then. That is a juicy tie.”
There was controversy in the draw after United were originally picked to play Villarreal — a tie that was not possible after they met in the group stages.
That was quickly corrected and City were drawn out instead, but it appeared that United were then not placed into the pot when Atletico Madrid’s opponents were drawn out in the next tie, as they should have been.
