Mr Mohammed Abdullahi, Minister of State for Science and Technology, donated a 28-seater bus to the ministry’s staff union on Saturday.
The gesture was made in honor of Workers’ Day 2021.
Abdullahi revealed this in a message on his Twitter account, @MohdHAbdullahi.
He explained that the gesture was intended to show appreciation for the workers’ hard work and to make it easier for them to get to and from work.
He wrote, “As part of our modest efforts in supporting our dedicated staff, I just provided a 28-seater bus to the staff union to ease their mobility to and from work amongst other efforts.
“I wish them a happy Workers’ Day.”
The minister also promised that his ministry will continue to promote labour-friendly policies to make the workplace conducive for workers.
He also vowed to ensure that promotions are done as and when due and also promote workers’ welfare.
