Yobe Governor Pays Dowry of 24 Gold Coins to Marry Abacha’s Daughter
Mai Mala Buni married Gumsu Sani Abacha, the daughter of former Nigerian President Sani Abacha, on Wednesday.
Mr Buni is now the chairman of the All Progressives Congress’s caretaker committee.
The costs of gold coins varies, with the American Buffalo costing $2,055.13, the American Gold Eagle costing $2,060.13, the Canadian Maple Leaf costing $2030.13, the Australian Kangaroo costing $2015.13, and the Chinese Panda costing $1975.13.
The wedding took place at the home of the bride’s elder brother, Mohammed Abacha, in Abuja.
The Comptroller-General of the Nigerian Customs Service, Hameed Ali, and the National Commissioner for Refugees, Migrants, and Internally Displaced Persons, Bashir Garba-Lado, were among those in attendance.
Others include Aminu Daurawa, a Kano-based Islamic cleric, and Yakubu Lado-DanMarke, a Katsina State governorship aspirant in the 2019 elections.
Mr Buni married his predecessor’s daughter, Adama Ibrahim-Gaidam, as his third wife in 2019.
Gumsu is now coming as the fourth wife to the governor.
The 45-year-old daughter of the late head of state was previously married to a Cameroonian multi-billionaire, Bayero Mohamadou. But the 20-year-old marriage crashed in 2020
