No fewer than 221 completed primary healthcare centres across 31 states have yet to start operation.
This is as the Federal Government also revealed 43 others are currently under construction.
The information was contained in a document obtained by our correspondent on Sunday from the Health Facilities Registry of the Federal Ministry of Health.
The Federal Government had in 2017 inaugurated a revitalisation programme for primary healthcare facilities across the country, expressing its commitment to refurbishing 10,000 PHCs nationwide with at least one centre in each of the nation’s 109 senatorial district.
An analysis of the document by our correspondent revealed that while 221 facilities had been completed, they are yet to start operations.
