Hon. Rita Odichi Former House of Representatives member representing Ajeromi/Ifelodun federal constituency between 2015, and 2019 and also contested for the same seat in the 2023 general election under the platform of the People Democratic party has been alleged of WAEC certificate forgery.
Before the 2023 general elections, a petitioner (name withheld) petitioned the Police Force Headquarters, stating that Orji was using a forged WAEC certificate.
In response to the petition, the force headquarters summoned her several times for questioning, investigation, and possibly prosecution about the claim.
Instead of honoring the invitation by the Police, Hon Rita Odichi Orji took the police command to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court in Apo, Abuja, and asked the court to prevent the command from investigating her.
She further claimed that the cops were violating her fundamental human rights.
Justice Bello Kawu of the Federal Capital High Court in Apo, Abuja has scheduled a hearing for June 28th, 2023.
