Isiaka Ahmed and Rofiat, the parents of a minor who was allegedly s*xualised by popular prankster and creator, Abdullahi Maruf Adisa, aka Trinity, have been quizzed by the Oyo State Command of the Nigeria Police Force.
It had earlier been reported that Trinity reported to the command for questioning in connection with a “disturbing viral skit content involving a female minor” according to the police in a statement.
Further to the statement, the police said in a series of tweets that Trinity claimed the consent of the parents of the minor was sought, which necessitated their invitation and interrogation.
The command said, “Creative content creator and skit maker, Abdullahi Maruf Adisa ‘aka’ Trinity reported at the premises of the Oyo State Police Command today Friday 23/06/2023 at about 1000hrs in the company of his legal counsel to honour an invitation extended to him by the Command.
“Preliminary Investigations revealed that the obscene video which was a clear violation of Sec. 32, 35 and 36 of the Child Rights Act of 2023 depicts explicit s*xual exploitation of the minor who was compelled to give disturbing descriptive details of a Male genital.
“In addition, the Skit Maker during the course of the interview provided shocking revelations about the involvement of the minor’s parents before, during and after the production.
“He particularly emphasized that the consent of both parents was sought before uploading the skit on the internet. Consequent on the above, Isiaka Ahmed and his wife, Rofiat, both biological parents of the minor are presently being quizzed by the gender and juvenile related offences desk of the SCID alongside Trinity.”
SaharaReporters on Tuesday reported that the Nigeria Police Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, called for Trinity’s arrest over one of his recent allegedly extremely terrifying pranks.
Adejobi, who shared the prank video on his Instagram page on Monday, ordered the arrest of the skit maker.
SaharaReporters had also reported that the Force spokesperson last Thursday warned pranksters to be ready to face the consequences of some of their pranks as they will be made to face the wrath of the law for any harm their actions cause.
Adejobi said that the activities of the pranksters create more problems for the police on security management than what they (pranksters) gain from such pranks.
According to him, the personnel of the force operating across the country should not be blamed for killing an innocent person if by any chance they shoot any prankster seen with a gun – be it a dummy or a real one – as the person might be taken for an armed robber or criminal before confirming the kind of gun with them.
